Welcome to the Apprenticeship Office

The Department of Training and Workforce Development's Apprenticeship Office (formerly ApprentiCentre) administers training contracts and regulates the apprenticeship system in Western Australia as prescribed in Part 7 of the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996 (the VET Act) and associated Regulations.

The Apprenticeship Office also has a compliance role that includes audits on training plans,
assessments on employers' suitability to train their apprentice(s), and ensuring that regulatory requirements are maintained across the apprenticeship/traineeship system. The Apprenticeship Office also provides a dispute resolution service for employers and apprentices/trainees where disagreement may arise under the training contract. You can view our Customer service – Code of practice here.

Employers, apprentices/trainees and training providers will find a range of useful information here on our website, including a suite of fact sheets and forms in the 'Managing your training contract' section. You might also find the FAQs below helpful.

I would like to do an apprenticeship or traineeship. Who do I speak to about getting started?

If you are looking for an apprenticeship or traineeship, the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) providers can help match you to an employer, support you during the sign-up to the training contract and assess your eligibility for Commonwealth Government incentives and Trade Support Loans.

AASN providers can also offer individualised screening, testing, streaming and matching services to help you select the apprenticeship, occupation or training pathway that is most suited to you. These services will work to ensure you are well-suited to an apprenticeship or traineeship and are the right fit for the job.

If you have already found an employer, contact an AASN provider to talk about getting your apprenticeship/traineeship started.

For more information, or to find an AASN provider in your area, call 13 38 73.
