Five new Jobs and Skills Centres open today!

Five new TAFE Jobs and Skills Centres opened today at Western Australia's north and south metropolitan TAFE campuses.

The TAFE Jobs and Skills Centres offer free career, training and employment services to students, jobseekers and career changers, and employers and business.

  • Balga campus – North Metropolitan TAFE
  • Joondalup campus – North Metropolitan TAFE
  • Northbridge campus – North Metropolitan TAFE
  • Thornlie campus – South Metropolitan TAFE
  • Rockingham campus – South Metropolitan TAFE

Services for students and jobseekers at the TAFE Jobs and Skills Centres will include:

  • career information and guidance;
  • training and course information;
  • help with job searching and job matching; 
  • access to a free online jobs board;
  • apprenticeship and traineeship assistance;
  • skills and qualification recognition information; and
  • culturally sensitive employment and career advice for Aboriginal people.

For businesses and employers the TAFE Jobs and Skills Centres can provide:

  • recruitment assistance, including apprentices and trainees;
  • advertising opportunities on an Aboriginal specific jobs board;
  • workforce development advice;
  • information on training solutions and services that can be customised to meet enterprise-specific needs; and
  • resources and advice on Aboriginal recruitment and retention strategies.

Regional Jobs and Skills Centres will open progressively in 2018/19. In the meantime, the Department continues to fund a range of Career Centre services and Aboriginal Workforce Development Centre services in regional areas.

New website coming

A new Jobs and Skills WA website will be launched on Friday April 20. The new website will streamline information and resources into a one-stop online shop for Western Australian training and careers information and resources, with new features including a course search providing information about all publicly funded vocational education and training courses in WA, and a jobs board with employment opportunities. More information about the new Jobs and Skills website will be available later this week.
