**PLEASE NOTE: APPLICATIONS FOR THESE POSITIONS HAVE NOW CLOSED**
We are seeking skilled workers to join the TAFE WA team as lecturers, to complement TAFE’s existing workforce of highly skilled staff and and ensure WA is well-positioned to train our future workforce.
We are looking for skilled workers with at least five years' industry experience who have a genuine passion for their field and the drive to teach others. A teaching qualification is not required — applicants with the right skills and experience will be assisted to attain their lecturing qualification/s. Applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds — in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, as well as women in non-traditional trades — are strongly encouraged to apply.
Opportunities are available for lecturing positions in a broad range of industries and teaching areas across all five TAFE colleges — in metropolitan Perth, and throughout regional WA. These include casual, fixed term contract and some permanent positions. Our regional TAFE colleges have a number of permanent positions available, and generous subsidies and allowances are available for eligible employees.
Since the start of the year there have been almost 85,000 TAFE enrolments, as a result of the Lower fees, local skills initiative introduced in January 2020. The initiative was further expanded in July and now includes 73 high priority courses with course fees slashed by as much as 72 per cent, for qualifications that align with WA’s immediate and emerging job opportunities. Skilled lecturers are also needed for the range of free short courses now available to jobseekers and young people under the Skills Ready program.
Applications are now open, and close 5 October 2020.
