WA Training Awards 2020 applications are now open!

Applications for the WA Training Awards 2020 are now open.

Award winners will be announced in September at the WA Training Awards Presentation Dinner, the vocational education and training (VET) sector's night of nights. Winners will be recognised across 14 categories  — nine individual and five organisational  — with applications closing on 1 May 2020. Individual winners will receive $3,000 in cash and may also be eligible to compete against the nation's finest at the Australian Training Awards later in the year.

For 2019 WA Training Awards Trainee of the Year Rebecca Hudson, 43, the awards opened up a world of new opportunities. The former Dalyellup local transitioned from a career in human resources to becoming a crane operator after completing a Certificate III in Mobile Crane Operations qualification. She has since secured an exciting new position as a Lifting Technician for BHP in the Pilbara. Rebecca is also a WA Training Awards Ambassador, and she encourages people of all ages to celebrate their training achievements by applying for the awards.
